Pine is planed, grooved, cut-to-size and ready to sand and finish. Our pine is kiln-dried with a thickness of 3/4". Bed-to-frame mounting holes are offset and countersunk for a flush surface. It is our recommendation that pine should either be painted (like the original wood beds) or finished with a natural finish, rather than stained. Pine is planed, grade "C" and its tolerances allow: firm knots max 3/8", some checking (splits), planing flaws on bottom of boards, bowed boards that flatten when installed, some natural discoloration and color variation are allowed.
